Mike Baker
Chief Executive Officer
Mike, manager of the WMCO cluster since 2012, has grown the cluster from 25 to 140 member SMEs. He manages strategic projects, partnerships, outreach, business development, events, and networking best practices.
With 35+ years of industry experience, Mike has developed manufacturing consortium communities in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. He also works as a part-time professor at Georgian College.
Mike holds a Masters Degree in Workplace Leadership and Adult Education from Athabasca University and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Social Science and Applied Human Studies.
Michael Petrie
Sr. Membership Manager
Michael Petrie serves as the Senior Project and Membership Manager at WMCO, bringing over 25 years of diverse experience spanning business ownership, corporate leadership, and academia. As a former SME business owner, Michael developed a deep expertise in operational management, strategic planning, and customer relationship building.
In addition to his entrepreneurial achievements, Michael has held leadership roles in corporate environments, where he excelled in project management, business strategy and development, and stakeholder engagement. His background in academics as a business professor further reflects his dedication to education and mentoring, equipping him with a unique ability to bridge theory and practice.
At WMCO, Michael leverages his multidisciplinary experience to enhance membership engagement, develop impactful programs, and oversee key initiatives that drive organizational growth. A passionate advocate for collaboration and team building, he is committed to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within WMCO and its member network.
