On November 20th, 2024, WMCO members gathered at CCW Inc. for an insightful and inspiring plant tour that showcased CCW’s innovative approach to digital integration and continuous improvement. This unique opportunity offered attendees a deep dive into CCW’s project development process, which spans planning, scheduling, and an ideal release to the production floor.
The event was a resounding success, with members from all across Ontario coming together, networking, and hands-on learning for an exceptional experience.
The day began with a warm welcome and an introduction by CCW’s Ian Scanling and Dave Van Dam. CCW’s team then led participants through their operations, demonstrating how their collaborative processes are designed to manage timelines, shop floor capacity, and scheduling. The tour provided an inside look at how CCW attempts to achieve a “perfect release” to production while maintaining their high standards of quality and efficiency.
Attendees also gained insight into CCW’s unique ability to balance highly custom architectural millwork fabrication with efficient casework production. The team highlighted how their strategic planning and advanced tools have enabled them to scale their operations while staying true to their commitment to craftsmanship and inspired design.
The event concluded with a networking lunch and an engaging Q&A session with CCW’s team. Participants reflected on the tour and what applied to their own manufacturing facilities. CCW posed a question to attendees as to what machine might best future proof their current processes. The conversations that followed sparked ideas and strategies that attendees utilized leading to many interesting considerations. |
